Midwest K-9 was the vision of two law enforcement officers who believe they can help in the war on drugs and make our neighborhoods safer.
Our Staff
- Dennis George, Narcotics Detective, Polk County
- Robin Moulds, Sergeant, Iowa Dept. of Corrections
- 24 years of correctional experience
- 12 years handling and training patrol and narcotic K-9's
- Matt Jones, Chief of Police, Monroe Police Dept.
- 11 years in law enforcement
- 5 years handling and training narcotic K-9's
- Mark Addison, Clarke County Sheriff (retired 2006)
- 33 years in law enforcement
- 11 years handling and training narcotic K-9's
Staff Training/Certification/Awards
- Certified detection K-9 judges sanctioned by the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA)
- Certified detection K-9 trainers
- Certified patrol K-9 trainers
- Attended training local, state and federal seminars concerning all aspects of drug enforcement and narcotics K-9 training.
- Received numerous awards, certificates and trophies (regionally and nationally) for their personal
K-9' s performance.
Narcotic interdiction programs/projects
- Southern Iowa Highway Interdiction program - Organized weekly interdiction on Interstates 80 and 35 in Polk, Dallas, Warren and Clarke counties with interdiction trained deputies and K-9's.
- Weigh Scales - Organized interdiction program working with the Iowa Department of Transportation. The DEA has stepped in to assist.
- School Locker Search Program - Organized a program to help other K-9 units search their schools. We serve many school districts in central and southern Iowa. We search 20,000 school lockers each year, and have a superb working relationship with the schools.
